Although Jaimini system of Astrology is generally considered to be an offshoot of Traditional Parasari system, in fact it is a part and parcel of ancient Indian Astrology. There are certain delicate niceties, which make the system so unique. In many cases, it will be found that sage Jaimini had dispensed with cumbersome calculations, and instead had offered some simple yet very useful methods.
In this system, the signs are given relatively more importance, and the aspects are considered of signs and not of planets, which is different from traditional Parasari practice. The Dasha systems are also distinctly different. In most cases, those are not of planets but of signs, those are not dependent on the longitude of the Moon, and there is no question of finding the Balance of Dasha at birth. The durations of all the Dashas, including that of the commencing one, are always in terms of a number of full years.
However, there are certain exceptions in case of a few Jaimini Dasha systems like Karaka Dashas, Atma-Karaka Dasha, and Upa-Karaka Graha Dasha. In these cases, the Dashas are of signs and planets combined. Besides, in these cases, only those signs which are occupied by planets will appear in the list of Dashas, while the remaining signs will not have their Dasha periods. This makes Jaimini Light 10 useful for astrologers who want practical access to these methods in a clean working environment.
In Northern and Central parts of India, the Jaimini system of Astrology could not become as popular as it should have been. Many users remained overly dependent on Vimshottari Dasha, which is often treated as the main practical system. But many learned astrologers have held the view that relying only on overused methods does not always produce dependable timing or event analysis.
Jaimini methods offer a different and very useful working path. The system gives stronger importance to signs, special lagnas, karakas, padas, and sign-based dashas. This gives astrologers another way to study profession, life direction, timing, and pattern recognition. For many serious students and practicing astrologers, this becomes valuable because it helps them move beyond only one standard framework and compare multiple systems through actual chart work.
Jaimini Light 10 matters because it organizes these principles into a usable software workflow. Instead of reading scattered references, the user gets important lagnas, significant planets, planetary dispositions, karakas, aspects, dasha systems, and prediction sections together in one place. That makes the software useful not only for study, but also for regular practice, client work, and deeper comparative analysis in Jaimini astrology.
